<br />DES:d;'- 10/24/89 (022/26) <br /> <br />f'[)!G' \,1,~ L <br />Unl ";1'.[-\ <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 111 7 4 <br /> <br />OCT 30 1989 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF WATER <br />FACILITIES REPAIR CLAMPS AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING <br />EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an extraordinarily high demand for repair clamps <br /> <br />for use on the City's water facilities has resulted from repairs <br /> <br />necessitated by the earthquake affecting the northern California <br /> <br />region on October 17, 1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has, by a motion duly made and <br /> <br />carried, suspended the requirements of Article VII of Chapter 2 <br /> <br />of the Code of the City of Redwood City pertaining to the <br /> <br />purchase of materials and supplies by competitive bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to approve and authorize the <br /> <br />purchase of said clamps from Roberts and Brune Company; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The proposal of Roberts and Brune Company in the amount <br /> <br />of Nineteen Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($19,000.00) plus air <br /> <br />freight and tax, for repair clamps for use on the water <br /> <br />facili ties of the City of Redwood City 1S hereby approved and <br /> <br />accepted, and any and all actions prior hereto providing for said <br /> <br />purchase are hereby ratified. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute such purchase orders or other appropriate purchase <br /> <br />documents (in form approved by the City Attorney) necessary or <br /> <br />appropriate to carry out the purchase authorized hereby. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
