05/06/02 <br /> <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2225 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 44 TO THE REDWOOD <br /> CITY CODE REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF <br /> RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE ADMINISTRATION <br /> OF THE HARBOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the health and safety of the general public using the <br />waterways of the City of Redwood City require the enactment of an ordinance <br />regulating the speed of boats within the Harbor, the removal or mutilation of <br />signs, the deposit of waste matter, the removal of abandoned property, and the <br />provision for penalties for violation of this ordinance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and the Port of Redwood City have <br />adopted a joint resolution (the "Joint Resolution"; Resolution No. 12946 adopted <br />October 28, 1996 and Resolution No. P-1517 adopted October 23, 1996 <br />respectively) for the joint beautification and regulation of the Redwood City <br />waterways and the enforcement, with the assistance of the Police Department of <br />the City of Redwood City, of the rules and regulations pertaining thereto. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 44 is hereby added to the Redwood City Municipal Code to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 44.1.
