12/02/02 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2240 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> CALIFORNIA, ELIMINATING THE EXISTING TIME LIMIT ON <br /> INCURRING DEBT FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR <br /> REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT NO. 2 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City, California (the "City <br />Council"), adopted Ordinance No. 1862 on July 19, 1982, approving and adopting the <br />Redevelopment Plan (the "Redevelopment Plan") for Redevelopment Project No. 2 (the <br />"Project"), which Redevelopment Plan was subsequently amended by Ordinance No. <br />1911 adopted on May 20, 1985, Ordinance No. 2007 adopted on December 18, 1989, <br />Ordinance No. 2085 adopted on December 19, 1994, and Ordinance No. 2211 adopted <br />on July 9, 2001; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2085, adopted on December 19, 1994, established <br />among other things a time limit on the establishing of loans, advances, and <br />indebtedness with respect to the Redevelopment Plan, in compliance with Section <br />33333.6 of the Health and Safety Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33333.6 was amended by SB 211 <br />which took effect on January 1, 2002, which authorizes redevelopment agencies to <br />eliminate the time limit on the establishment of loans, advances, and indebtedness <br />contained in redevelopment plans; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA, <br />DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Redevelopment Plan for Redevelopment Project No. 2 is hereby <br />amended to eliminate the time limit on the establishment of loans, advances, and <br />indebtedness established by Ordinance No. 2085. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Except as modified by Section 1, above, the Redevelopment Plan, <br />and Ordinance Nos. 1862, 1911, 2007, 2085 and 2211 are continued in full force and <br />effect. <br /> <br /> Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send a certified copy of this <br />Ordinance to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Severability. If any part of this Ordinance is held to be invalid for any <br />reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this <br />Ordinance, and this City Council hereby declares that it would have passed the <br />remainder of this Ordinance if such invalid portion thereof had been deleted. <br /> <br />F:Atty/Ord/Ord.168 <br />102802 <br /> <br /> <br />
