0 R I G I N A L - 9/8/97 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2132 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br /> OF SECOND AMENDMENT TO FRANCHISE AGREEMENT <br /> WITH BROWNING-FERRIS INDUSTRIES OF CALIFORNIA, <br /> INC., FOR SOLID WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1960, adopted October 12, 1987, <br />the Council of the City of Redwood City approved and authorized the execution <br />of a Uniform Franchise Agreement with Browning-Ferris Industries of California, <br />Inc. ("BFI") for solid waste collection services, effective as of October 1, 1987 <br />(the "Master Franchise"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2077, adopted April 11, 1994, the <br />Council of the City of Redwood City approved and authorized the execution of a <br />First Amendment amending the Master Franchise effective April 26,1994; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is a member agency of the South <br />Bayside Transfer Station Authority ("Authority"), a public agency established <br />pursuant to the California Joint Exercise of Powers Authority Act (Govt. C. §6500 <br />et seq.); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Master Franchise by revising the <br />period during which notice must be given not to extend the term thereof to <br />accommodate activities of the Authority relating to proposals for substantive <br /> <br />revisions to the Master Franchise; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Ord-0~8 1 <br />F:/shared/redwood/council <br />DES:djk <br />08/15/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
