7/26/99 <br /> 0 RIGINAL <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2172 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE ADDING DIVISION 12 (COMMENCING WITH SECTION 20.227) <br />TO ARTICLE VII OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RELATING TO HABITATION IN VEHICLES <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Division heading 12 to Article VII, encompassing Sections 20.227 <br />and 20.228, is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> "DIVISION 12. SLEEPING IN VEHICLES" <br /> <br />Section 2. Section 20.227 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 20.227. Sleeping in Vehicles: Is shall be unlawful for any person to <br />occupy or use or permit the occupancy or use of any automobile, motor vehicle, <br />trailer, van, truck, pickup truck, camp car, recreational vehicle, other motor home, <br />or other vehicle as sleeping or living quarters, whether on public or private <br />property, outside a lawfully operated mobile park or auto camp." <br /> <br />Section 3. Section 20.228 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 20.228. Penalty: Violation of any of the provisions of this Division shall <br />be deemed an infraction, which upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as <br />specified in Section 1.7B of this Code and is in addition to any remedy and <br />penalty provided by Section 14.70 et seq. of this Code." <br /> <br />Section 4.
