Chapter 33B is hereby added to the City Code of Redwood City to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />"CHAPTER 33B. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE REGULATIONS IN COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICTS: <br /> <br />Section 33B.I. PURPOSE: The purpose of this Chapter is to regulate the <br />possession and consumption of alcohol in Commercial Districts within the City of <br />Redwood City for the optimum use and enjoyment of the residents of the City of <br />Redwood City; to establish regulations to promote the safety and comfort of <br />persons who consume alcohol within the Commercial Districts as well as persons <br />residing or owning property in, and in the vicinity of, the Commercial Districts. <br /> <br />Section 33B.2. DEFINITIONS: For purposes of this Chapter, the following <br />words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this <br />Section: <br /> <br /> Alcoholic Bevera,qe: Shall have the meaning ascribed thereto in the <br />Alcoholic Beverage Control Act (Business and Professions Code, section 23000 <br />et seq.), as the same may from time to time be amended. <br /> <br /> Commercial Districts: The Zoning Districts designated Central <br />Administration, Neighborhood Commercial, Central Business, General Business, <br />General Commercial, Commercial Park and Central Business Retail Districts in <br />the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance No. 1130, Effective July 10, <br />1964, as amended from time to time). <br /> <br />Section 33B.3. POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINERS OF ALCOHOLIC <br />BEVERAGES PROHIBITED EXCEPT WHERE PERMITTED: It shall be unlawful <br />for any person to have in his or her possession any bottle, can or other <br />receptacle containing any Alcoholic Beverage which has been opened, or a seal <br />broken, or the contents of which have been partially removed, in any public place <br />or in a place open to the public in the Commercial Districts, except in the <br />following permitted situations: <br /> <br />F:Shared/Redwood/Council/Ord-076A <br />FXS:mge <br />06/23/99 2:45 PM <br /> <br /> <br />
