, SWC:bc 5/14/80 ORIGINAL 1 819 JUN 2 1980 ORDINANCE NO. 1819 --------- - - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PROVIDING FOR INTERIM APPROPRIATIONS BASED UPON THE 1979-80 BUDGET PROGRAMS ESTABLISHED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1789 TO ALLOW FOR EXPENDITURES COMMENCING UPON AND CONTINUING UNTIL THE 1980-81 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET SHALL HAVE BEEN ADOPTED; APPROPRIATING $1,428,900 FROM GENERAL FUND BALANCES AS OF JUNE 30, 1980 TO THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE ESTABLISHM~NT OF A "SPECIAL STATE DEFLATOR RESERVE" PROGRAM; APPROPRIATING ALL OTHER UNEXPENDED AND UNENCUMBERED FUND BALANCES AS OF JUNE 30, 1980 TO THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE PROGRAM "RESOURCES HELD IN RESERVE"; AND APPROPRIATING ALL UNEXPENDED AND UNENCUMBERED BALANCES IN ALL OTHER FUNDS AS OF JUNE 30, 1980 TO THOSE SAME FUNDS FOR PURPOSES OF EXPENDITURE DURING SAID INTERIM PERIOD THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, in accordance with the amendments to Sections 51 and 51.5 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City which amendments were approved by the voters on April 8, 1980, this Council did, on April 21, 1980 approve Resolution No. 8564, thereby establishing July 21, 1980 as the date for final adoption of the 1980-81 fiscal year budget; and WHE REAS , pursuant to Ordinance No. 1789 adopted June 25, 1979, the 1979-80 fiscal year budget authorizes no expenditures beyond June 30, 1980, thereby creating an interim period from July 1, 1980 - July 21, 1980 where no expenditures are currently authorized; and WHEREAS, good accounting practice and the intent of the Charter of the City of Redwood City would dictate that City funds be spent only pursuant to duly authorized appropriations; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Council that monies be duly appropriated to authorize the City of Redwood City to . continue to meet its obligations during said interim period July 1 - July 21, 1980 (or such other date upon which the fiscal year to 1980-81 budget may be adopted); NOW, THEREFORE: SECTION 1.
