<br />12/17/2007 <br /> <br />Attachment 2 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14828 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT, BECAUSE OF <br />LOCAL CLIMATIC, GEOLOGICAL AND TOPOGRAPHICAL <br />CONDITIONS, THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, WELFARE, AND <br />NECESSITY, REQUIRE CHANGES OR MODIFICATION TO CERTAIN <br />PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL <br />CODE RELATING TO THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE <br />"INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, 2006 EDITION"; AS MODIFIED AND <br />MADE APPLICABLE TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 50022.1, et seq., of the <br /> <br />Government Code, and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, this <br /> <br />Council proposes to adopt by reference the International Fire Code, 2006 Edition, <br /> <br />(hereinafter referred to as the "Fire Code"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in connection therewith, certain changes or modifications are <br /> <br />proposed to be made to the substantive provisions of the Codes, which changes or <br /> <br />modifications are reasonably necessary due to local climatic, geological and <br /> <br />topographic conditions (the "Local Amendments"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Local Amendments, which are proposed to be made clarify the <br /> <br />Fire Code and in certain instances, impose more stringent protection requirements than <br /> <br />are required by the Fire Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Local Amendments have been recognized by the City to <br /> <br />address the fire problems, concerns, and future direction by which the City can <br /> <br />establish and maintain an environment which will afford a level of fire and life safety to <br /> <br />all who live and work within its boundaries; and <br /> <br />Atty/Reso.1762 <br />120307 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />14828 <br />Muff # 305 <br />
