06/08/2020 RESOLUTION NO. 15847 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY CALLING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020, FOR THE ELECTION OF FOUR MUNICIPAL OFFICERS FOR SEATS IN COUNCIL DISTRICTS 1, 3, 4, AND 7 TO THE VOTERS WHO RESIDE IN THOSE DISTRICTS AS REQUIRED BY THE CITY'S CHARTER AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, Ordinance No. 2433, adopted March 13, 2017, and the laws of the State of California, the General Municipal Election of the City of Redwood City shall be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, for the election of municipal officers; and WHEREAS, this Council desires to consolidate aforesaid General Municipal Election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That pursuant to Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, Ordinance No. 2433, and the laws of the State of California, there is called and ordered to be held in the City of Redwood City, California, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, a Municipal Election for the purposes of electing one person each from City Council Districts 1, 3, 4 and 7 for a total of four Council Members to serve a full term of four years each. 2. That the ballots to be used at the election shall be in the form and content as required by law. 3. That the City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to coordinate with the County of San Mateo Chief Elections Officer to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphenalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct the election. 4. That the polls for the election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. of the day of the election and shall remain open continuously from the that time until 8:00 o'clock p.m. of the same day when the polls shall be closed, pursuant to California Election Code section 10242, except as provided in California Election Code section 14401, and as otherwise set forth by law if the City of Redwood City participates in an all -mail ballot election as provided for by California Election Code section 4000.
