<br />02/25/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14843 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF <br />APPLICATIONS TO THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT BOARD FOR GRANT FUNDING RUBBERIZED <br />ASPHALT RESURFACING PROJECTS, AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT DOCUMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Resources Code ~40000 et seq. authorize the California <br />Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to administer various Grant Programs <br />in furtherance of the State of California's (State) efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse <br />solid waste generated in the State thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting <br />public health and safety and the environment; and <br />WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority the CIWMB is requires to establish <br />procedures governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants; and <br />WHEREAS, Grant Application procedures require an Applicant's governing body <br />to authorize by resolution its approval for submittal of the Grant Application(s) identified <br />below, and the designation by job title of the individual authorized to execute all Grant <br />documents on behalf of the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, if awarded, the City of Redwood City will enter into a Grant <br />Agreement with the CIWMB for implementation of said Grant(s). <br />NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That the City Council authorizes the submittal of application(s) to the <br />CIWMB for all grants for which the City of Redwood City is eligible. <br />2. That this authorization is effective for 5 years: from March 1, 2008 through <br />March 1, 2013; time period not to exceed five (5) years from date of adoption. <br />3. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized and empowered <br />to execute in the name of the City of Redwood City all grant documents, including but <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1793 <br />021908 <br /> <br />14843 <br />Muff # 701 <br />
