12/21/2020 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15923 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY TO THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS THE <br />FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021 ASSESSMENT FOR ADMINISTERING THE <br />STATE'S WORKERS' COMPENSATION PROGRAM IN AN AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED $178,672.06 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is self-insured for workers' compensation; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, California Labor Code Sections 62.5 and 62.6 authorize the State of <br />California Department of Industrial Relations to assess fees to employers for costs of <br />administering the State's workers' compensation program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is assessed every year by the Department <br />of Industrial Relations to support the State program; and <br />WHEREAS, for FY 2020-21, the City's share of assessments authorized by Labor <br />Code Sections 62.5 and 62.6 is $178,672.06. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1.
