CGM:mf 10/9/81 CGM:mf 10/12/81R RES 0 L UTI 0 N ~ Q. 897 9 OCT 1 2 1981 RESOLUTION A.UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DESIGNATION OF AN AREA WITHIN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS A SURVEY AREA ORiGiNAL WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article 2, Part I, Division 24 of the Health and Safety Code, Part 1 of said Division of said Code is known as the Community Redevelopment Law, grants authority to a legislative body of a community by resolution, to authorize the designation of a survey area by resolution of the Planning Commission of that community for an area within a City for the purpose of studying said area to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within said area are feasible; and WHEREAS, this Council desires that the Planning Commission designate an area in the City of Redwood City as a survey area (including preliminery plan formulation); NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOvlS: 1. That the Planning Commissillon is hereby authorized and directed to designate an area within the City of Redwood City as a survey area and to conduct a study of said area in accordance with applicable statutory procedures (including all required findings) to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within said area are feasible. 2. That the Planning Commission is hereby further directed to designate one or more areas within the area comprising the survey area so designated as a project area, or project areas, if said Commission finds evidence to support the applicable criteria therefor, and to formulate a preliminary plan for the redevelopment of each selected project area in accordance with the above mentioned statutory procedures. * * * 8979
