MINUTE ORDER <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br /> March 16, 1998 <br /> MO. 98-078 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: March 19, 1998 <br /> <br />Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Discussion of Parks, Recreation and Community Services'Department <br /> staff support to the Civic Cultural Commission, Fair Oaks <br /> Community Center Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission, Senior Affairs Commission, Child Care Advisory, Pride <br /> and Beautification, and Youth Advisory Committees; (209) <br /> <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on March 16, 1998. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmembers Bain, Claire, Hartnett, Ira, Leipzig, Ruskin <br /> and Mayor Howard <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes: <br /> <br /> Council Member Leipzig said he had not heard about this proposal until some <br /> members, who were upset about it, had called him. In response to Council <br /> Member Leipzig's questions, Superintendent Centeno said staff had talked to <br /> the various groups, and some of the members had expressed support to pursue a <br /> discussion regarding reconfiguration. <br /> <br /> Superintendent Centeno agreed with Council Member Claire that all the <br /> members and groups have served the City well. She described how some of the <br /> groups had gone to each other's meetings because the topic of discussion was <br /> related to both their spheres of influence, and wanted input into the project. <br /> Superintendent Centeno described the overlapping interests and how that had <br /> sparked staff to wonder if it was worthwhile to look at reconfigurations, or other <br /> forms of coordination. <br /> <br /> <br />
