<br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that <br />whereas the Railroad Commission of the State of California will <br /> <br /> <br />~old a 'hearing on the 6th day of September, 1934, with reference <br /> <br />to closing certain peninsula crossings, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS there are-situated in the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />four (4) crossings propo~ed to be closed, namely: Beech Street, <br /> <br />Cedar Street, Chestnut Street and Maple Street, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS while two of said crossings, mamely Cedar street and <br /> <br />Beech Street are more or less local in their use, the crossing at <br /> <br /> <br />Chestnut Street leads directly to the Harbor lands and the Pacific <br /> <br />-Portland Cement Company's plant at the end of said street, and <br /> <br />Maple street is a direct connection between Main street, one of <br /> <br />the business streets of said city, and the'territory lying west <br /> <br />of El Camino Real. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that protest is hereby made <br />to the Railroad Commission of the State of California against <br />closing any of the four (4) crossings named herein and situated <br />in the City of Redwood City. <br />And' be it further resolved that a cart'ified copy of this <br />resolution be filed with the Railroad Commission at its hearing <br />on September 6, ,1934. <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly <br />and regularly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof he~4 on the 4th day of <br />September, 19M, by the following vote. <br />Ayes: councilmenL.C.Cb~~,~,~' <br />~.1O 6'S, -l* Mvc....~ I 4 ~ ' (, q u.mbf'r-Ht. <br />"Noes: councilmen~, " ' , <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />,'\ <br />..:r <br /> <br />j <br /> <br />Absent Councilmen <br /> <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />of the <br /> <br />ity <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Mayor of <br />
