<br />.....~" <br /> <br />!!~Q.kY.11Q.1 <br /> <br />WHJCREAS, there has been much publici ty bro~dcast throughout the <br />nation by both Press and Radio, in reference to the early cash payment <br />of 'orld War Veterans' Adjusted Service Certificates, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Administration is seeking wlqs and means of <br />legally relieving the present economic stress of the nation, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said Veterans' Adjusted Service Certificates consti- <br />tute an acknowledged Government Debt that should have been paid at the <br />time the service was rendered, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the early payment of thi s debt will, not onlY' be a just <br />recognition of .patriotic service, but will also save our Federal Treasury <br />millions of dollars in cost of administration, and will serve as a great <br />stimula.tion to business and industry in every part of the' nation, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Redwood <br />Ci ty, California', in regular meeting a.ssembled this 18th dq of Karch, <br />A. D. 1935, that we unanimously approve and endorse, pending proposed <br />legislation providing for ~ch payment, and herebY' call upon and urge <br />our Representatives in the Congress of the United States, to support and <br />work for such legislation until same is enacted into law. <br /> <br />Th~ foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of <br />the City of Redwood City at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of <br />March, 1935, by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen, J. 14.
