<br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Golden <br />Gate Bridge will be completed wi thin the next two years and will <br />offer to the home owning commuter superior rapid transit accommod- <br />ations out of San Francisco to East Bay and North Bay c1ties,and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the natural growth and development of San Mateo <br />County dependsupon equal facilities and accommodat1ons and a <br />similar rap1d transit system, if we are to maintain our present <br />position as an ideal res1dential section of the metropolitan <br />district, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to oooperate with San Francisco or any other cit1e <br />or counties in the metropolitan district we must have art enabling <br />act which will give the citizens of San Mateo County equal rights <br />in the metropolitan commuting zone,and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such an enabling act designated by its' number as <br />Senate Bill No.511 is now in Senator McGovern's Committee on <br />Municipal Corporations for final consideration on WedneSday, <br />April 17th, <br /> <br />NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council does here <br />by approve the adoption of Senate Bill No.51l which will eJ)able <br />the citizens of San Mateo Oounty to have an equal voice w1th <br />other cities of the metropolitan district in planning and control - <br />ing the development of transportation in the future. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of t his Council be <br />instrw ted to transmit this resolution of approval fromthis <br />Council to Senator Parkman and Assemblyman Peterson of this Coupt , <br />and)also to'Senator Walter McGovern at Sacramento asking them to <br />give it their support. ~ <br /> <br />Regularly passed and adopted th " / Ji:!l.day 0 f A ril, 1935 <br /> <br />7ff <br /> <br />Chairma ~y nei, <br />Red"IP.Qdj~i t Coun:tt, <br />...-// / Gal iforn a / <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk <br />
