<br />DSOLUTION <br /> <br />1f'R"RmleAS, there is pending in the Exhibi tion and lairs Committee of <br />the California Assembly, Assembly :Bill 1252 which provides for an appropria- <br />tion of $5,000,000, for a State exhibit for the purpose of advertising the <br />State of California at the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939, and <br />WHlREAS, this bill :f'u.rther provides funds for a California :Building, <br />"hich 19'111 be the .host building" of the Ixposition, and scenic attractions, <br />wild life, educational, recreational, and administrative features of the <br /> <br />State, and <br />It'H''mR'mA.S, eve17 other State in the West has taken steps to partici- <br /> <br />pate in the Exposition and to share in the economic bene!i ts to be gained <br /> <br />therefrom, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the excess revenue to be derived from the Sales and Gaso- <br /> <br />line !axes by the money that will be expended in California during and because <br />of the Exposition, will be in excess ot eleven million dollars ($11,000,000), <br />THERJI'ORB: :BE IT RESOLVED, tha.t the Council of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City, being cognizant of the benefits which will accrue to the State and to <br /> <br />its counties and cities from thelxposition as a whole and from an adequate <br /> <br />State and County exhibit in particular does hereqy endorse and urge passage <br /> <br />of said Assembly Bill 1252. <br /> <br /> <br />The foregoing resolution was passed and adopted ~ the Oounci1 of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City at an adjourned meeting held on the 26th ~ of <br /> <br /> <br />April, 1937, by the follOWing vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: CounCilmen, L. C. Christensen, J. M. Eva, E. A. Fletcher, <br />R. N. Jones, G. W. McNu! ty and Pau+ A. McCarthy. <br /> <br />Noes: Councilmen, None. <br /> <br />Absent: Councilman '1m.
