<br />c.- .:.;; <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />NO. 152 <br /> <br />ADVOCATING COUNTY SUPPORT FOR AN AIR <br />PORT AT REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Civil Aeronautics Authority of the <br />United states has urged the establishment of an Air Port <br />in the southerly portion of San Mateo County and haSi reoom- <br />mended the location thereof in or near the City of Redwood <br />City; and <br /> <br />WEEREAS the Ci ty Council of said ci ty recognize-m <br /> <br />the advisability of establishing such an Air Port for civi~ian <br /> <br />flyer~ with appropriate hangars and equipment fo~ storing <br /> <br />and servicing aeroplanes of civilian f1yers in or near said <br /> <br /> <br />ci ty;: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS' the original cost of such an Air Port, and <br />the expense of personnel in the maintenanoe thereof, are be- <br />yond the ability of. said city to bear and such Air Port would <br />be of service to residents of a large part of San Mateo County; <br />RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo <br />County be and they are ~ereby urged to form an Air Port Dis- <br />trict for southern San Mateo County, or otherwise provide for <br />the es:,tablisbment and maintenance of such ,an Air Port by joint <br />participation of said County of San Mateo and the area within <br />the Sequoia Union High School District; that prOVision be made <br />at the earliest possible time to acquire suitable property far <br />such an Air Port before the relatively few; propert:J.essuitable <br />therefor are subdivided and developed for some other use. <br />The above and foregoing resolution was passed and. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
