MINUTE ORDER <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br /> July 14, 1997 <br /> MO. 97-143 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: July 16, 1997 <br /> <br />Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Council <br /> Pride and Beautification Committee <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Pride and Beautification Committee, Tenth Annual Mayor's <br /> Beautification Awards; (207,209) <br /> <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on July 14, 1997. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmembers Buchan, Claire, Howard, La Berge, Leipzig, Ruskin <br /> and Mayor Hartnett <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes: <br /> <br /> Mayor Hartnett and Vice Mayor Howard gave a brief history of the Mayor's <br /> Beautification Awards program and what these beautification projects mean to <br /> the Council and to the City. Mayor Harmett thanked Vice Mayor Howard for <br /> her leadership on the Pride and Beautification Committee and her efforts in <br /> beautifying Redwood City. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Howard said the number of entries had grown every year, and this <br /> year there were 33 entries. She thanked all the participants on behalf of the <br /> Council and the community, including this year's judges: Lynnette Dowling, <br /> Mary Rose Scott, Gino Gasparini, Giuny Hughes, Jeanne Roehm, Betty Moran, <br /> Mike Payne, Don Saye, Oliver Redington and Pauline Truscelli; the City's <br /> graphic artist Speer McClelland who took all the pictures and produced the story <br /> boards; and the City Manager's Executive Assistant Pat Valentine for her <br /> guidance and inspiration during the early morning Pride and Beautification <br /> meetings and the wonderful reception this evening. <br /> <br /> <br />
