6/11/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO1 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS AGREEMENT WITH <br />SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR <br />PURCHASING MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, AND SUPPLIES <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 5, Division 7, Title 1 (commencing with Section <br />6500) of the California Government Code, authorizes public agencies to enter <br />into agreements for the joint exercise of powers which are common to them; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.80 of the Code of the City of Redwood City <br />provides that the City of Redwood City may, subject to certain criteria, request <br />local agencies to purchase materials, equipment, or supplies on behalf of the <br />City, and <br />WHEREAS, the Sequoia Union High School District and the City of <br />Redwood City have heretofore entered into a joint exercise of powers agreement <br />pursuant to which said District has purchased certain materials, equipment, and <br />supplies for the City, the term of which agreement expires June 30, 2001; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to continue the joint purchasing <br />procedure established by the prior agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, an agreement between the City and the District, under which <br />the District will continue to purchase certain materials, equipment, and supplies <br />for the City has been presented to, and reviewed by, this Council, and this <br />Council desires to approve said agreement and authorize its execution; <br />Reso -1160 <br />DES:djk <br />F\Shared \Redwood \Council <br />05/24/01 <br />
