<br />.... ~.~.,., <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTI9N <br /> <br />No. 414 <br /> <br />WHEREAS on December 13th, 1946 Mark Ryan passed from this <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />life to his eternal reward and it is fitting that this City Council <br /> <br />of .the City of Redwood C1 ty appropri.ately record his long, faithful <br /> <br />and distinguished public services in this community, <br /> <br />RESOLVED by this Council that we here record the esteem and <br /> <br />affection in which Mark Ryan is and, for over a quarter of a century, has <br /> <br />been held by membenaof this Cou~cil, the officers and members of this <br /> <br />oity government, especially the Fire and Police Departments, and thousands <br /> <br />of our fellow citizens; that we hereby commemorateN~k Ryan's outstanding <br /> <br />services to this city, San Mateo County and the state of California as a <br /> <br />member of this Council, as ~ayor of this city, as Chief of the Fire De- <br /> <br />partment for many years without compensation, as a member of the Boards <br /> <br />of Freeholders who.drafted charters for this city and for San Mateo County, <br /> <br />and as a member of many citizens' committees for promotion of the welfare <br /> <br />and progress of this community; <br /> <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that we attest the sterling character of our <br /> <br />friend, his courage, devotion to public service, often at great personal <br /> <br />sacrifice, his independence of thought and action, and hi~ indomitable <br /> <br />energy throughout his long life among us. <br /> <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread on the min- <br /> <br />utes of this Council, that we adjourn this meeting in memory of I~rk <br /> <br />Ryan, and that copies of this resolution, certified by our Clerk, be <br /> <br />sent to his widow and sons, to whom we extend our sympath~es in this <br /> <br />bereavement. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of,Redwood <br /> <br /> <br />City at a regular nweting thereof held on the 16th day of Decmnber, <br /> <br />1946, by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing <br /> <br />resolut~on, Councilmen: Armstrong, Bri tschgi, Granger, McNulty, Svdft and <br /> <br />Werder. <br /> <br />NOES, Councilmen: <br /> <br />None <br />. <br /> <br />\ <br />Absent, Councilmen : Hilton <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />fttt;tl~... ..__ <br />IVIayoroti theulty o:rRea.wood. u~ty <br /> <br /> <br />
