<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. <br /> <br />44'7 <br /> <br />RECO~ThmNDING THE PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION FOR THE <br />CONTINUANCE OF CHILD CARE CENTERS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Child Care Center in this community has made <br />a valuable contribution to the social stability of many families <br /> <br />who use it to enable them to engage in business and professions, <br /> <br />buy permanent homes, and matntain financial independence; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the use of the Child Care Center facilities for <br /> <br />these purposes has increased the security of many families and <br />made it possible for them to face their proolems and solve them <br />through their own efforts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the hundreds of ~ildren of this community who <br /> <br />have attended the Center during the past four years have benefitted <br />greatly with regard to health and general welfare, educational <br />training and good social development, all of which contribute to <br />the prevention of delinquency and the making of good future citizens. <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council go on <br />record as favoring the passage by' the state Legislature of the <br /> <br />proposed Geddes-Davis bill, with this exception: that the joint <br /> <br /> <br />family income figure be raised from $200.00 per month, which, if <br /> <br /> <br />established, would almost certainly result in 'the elimination of <br /> <br />the Child Care program to a. figure which is an adequate reflection <br /> <br /> <br />of the actual conditions of employment in this state. <br /> <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of this City be <br /> <br />directed to send true certified copies of this resolution to <br /> <br />Senator Harry Parkman, Assemblyman Richard Dolwig, and the Parents <br /> <br /> <br />Committee of the Child Care Center of this City. <br /> <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and <br /> <br /> <br />adopted by the City Council of the City of Redwood City at a <br />
