RESOLUTION NO. 15973 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY <br />CONTROLLER TO LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS FOR FY 2021- <br />2022 FOR THE REDWOOD SHORES LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE <br />DISTRICT NO. 1995-1 AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX <br />COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH ASSESSMENTS <br />WHEREAS, on July 28, 1997, voters of the Redwood Shores Landscape <br />Maintenance District 1995-1 (the "District") approved, by a vote of 89.4% yes to 10.6% <br />no, the levy of a special tax, the amount of such tax to be annually calculated in <br />accordance with the formula set forth in the City Manager's and City Engineer's Reports <br />approved by Resolution No. 13107 adopted June 9, 1997, and confirmed by Resolution <br />No. 13377 adopted June 29, 1998, on each non-exempt parcel of land in the District; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the maximum benefit assessment for fiscal year 2021-2022 is <br />$284,982; and <br />WHEREAS, the District has the need of the services of the offices of the San <br />Mateo County Controller and Tax Collector in levying and collecting the special tax. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The above recitals are all true and correct. <br />2. The amount of the assessment to be levied against the District for fiscal <br />year 2021- 2022 is hereby set at $ $284,982. <br />3. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby respectfully requests <br />and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Controller to include individual tax <br />assessments in the County tax bills for the fiscal year 2021-2022 in accordance with <br />the documents supplied by the District and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax <br />Collector to collect the taxes at the same time and in the same manner as the <br />general County taxes are collected. <br />4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution <br />and enter it into the book of original resolutions. <br />5.
