RESOLUTION NO. 15974 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY 1) APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD OF <br />$270,000.00 FROM THE REDWOOD CITY LIBRARY FOUNDATION, <br />AND 2) INCREASING THE CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND REVENUE AND <br />EXPENDITURE BY $270,000.00; <br />WHEREAS, on June 24, 2021 the Redwood City Library Foundation ("the <br />Foundation") unanimously adopted its annual FY2021-22 budget, which included <br />$413,000.00 in expenditures to support the Redwood City Public Library Makerspace <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Foundation has raised sufficient funds to date to supplement the <br />City of Redwood City's Capital Improvement Program budget via a grant award of <br />$270,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the above mentioned funds are intended to be used for the <br />renovations to construct a makerspace in the Redwood City Downtown Library ("the <br />Project"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to approve and accept the Foundation's grant <br />award, authorize the City Manager to execute any related contract documents, and <br />transfer funding in order to facilitate construction of the Project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council hereby approves and accepts the Foundation's grant <br />award of $270,000.00. <br />2. The Capital Outlay Fund revenue and expenditure budgets for the Project <br />shall be increased by $270,000.00. <br />3.
