<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR EVENT AND PROMOTIONAL SERVICES <br />Latino Leadership Council of San Mateo County <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into as of the 1L day of <br />~L , 2009, by and between the REDWOOD CITY <br />RED.EV~O,PM~NT AGENCY, a public body, corporate and politiC, duly organized and <br />existing under the laws of the State of California ("Agency"), and Latino Leadership <br />Council of San Mateo County, a non-profit, 501 c3 in the State of California ("Grantee") <br />(collectively, the "Parties"). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the mission of the Latino Leadership Council of San Mateo County <br />is to provide education to the community regarding economic, political and social issues <br />affecting the Latino community; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and the Latino Leadership Council of San <br />Mateo County have agreed to a partnership for the purpose of implementing the first <br />annual Redwood City International Latino Film Festival (RCILFF) that will take place on <br />November 6 through 8, 2009 in downtown Redwood City; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City and Grantee has requested the Agency to provide $20,000 <br />in financial support for event services and promotions for the RCILLF; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the RCILLF will be held within the boundaries of the Redwood City <br />Redevelopment Project Area and the event will contribute to the Agency's goals and <br />objectives for the Project Area. <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br />A. <br />RCILFF. <br /> <br />Grantee has the necessary experience to organize and manage the <br /> <br />B. Grantee has submitted a proposal to Agency and has affirmed its <br />willingness and ability to perform such work. <br /> <br />C. The use of tax increment funds from the Redwood City Project Area for the <br />RCILLF will assist in the elimination of blight and is consistent with the implementation <br />plan adopted for the Redwood City Project Area. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants <br />contained herein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Scope of Work.
