<br />Res. 702 <br /> <br />HH8REAS civilian defense workers enrolled in the RedHood City <br /> <br /> <br />Civilian Council during the period of the 'War, conducted several salvage <br /> <br /> <br />drives from which oertain sums of monies were derived from sale of waste <br /> <br /> <br />paper and other materials; and <br /> <br />HHEm~AS, on the recommendation of th<3se civiliah defense workers, <br /> <br /> <br />these monies were deposited in escrow with the City of Red~~od City, to be <br /> <br /> <br />used for ,.]hatever purpose the then Commander of Civilian Defense, should <br /> <br /> <br />specify; and <br /> <br />Hln~lUAS, on the recommendation of the Redwood City Council <br />approved by the Redvlood City vlar Council, $1,000 of these monies, was <br />invested in a Series G Treasury Bond, in order that it might no.t lose its <br />identity in the City Treasury, and <br /> <br />TdHEREAS, 1 t is the re cOillJ'Uenda tion of Floyd D. Granger, <br />CO~l~nder of the civilian defense units at that time, and his assooiates <br />on the Red\<1ood City Har Council, namely Chester Armstrong, Louis Dematteis, <br />S.S. Hayo and Duncan Reynard, that the proceeds of this bond on maturity <br />should be best invested in a proj eot that Hill maintain in t he hearts arii <br />minds of our citizens, the principles of Americanism, and a knowledge of <br />the founding and development of our nation, <br /> <br />NOH TJt~H.ti;Fal.E, BE rr R8S0LVED, that upon maturity, the prooeeds <br />realized from the sale of the ~~l,OOO Series G.
