'723-A <br /> <br />DESIGNATINI..l JUNE IS, 1949 <br />AS IfDdlSS-UP DAyn <br /> <br />vJHE~ in the year 1939 the Redwood Oi ty Rodeo was established <br /> <br />as a permanent annual event and has since c()ntinued year 11 with the ex- <br /> <br />ception of war conditions necessitating the omission of the rodeo features during <br /> <br />a portion of the war years, from 1942 to 1945; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Peninsula Celebration Association is again planning <br /> <br />for an outstanding Fourth of July celebration, rodeo and horse show, <br /> <br />on July 2,3, & 4; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the interests of pub1icit~r for this outstanding event, <br /> <br />June 18 has been selected as an appropriate day to commence the wearing <br /> <br />of early California or western costumes, which costumes are to be worn <br /> <br />from that day through the last day of the celebration; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Honorable William M. Werder, <br /> <br />as Mayor of the City of Redwood City, issue a proclamation declaring <br /> <br />and designating June 18, 1949 as "Dress-Up Day", and calling upon all <br /> <br />citizens of Redwood City to wear appr~priate early California or western <br /> <br />costumes; and further, to solicit the aid, support and cooperation of <br /> <br />all of the citizens of our community to the end that ~his celebration <br /> <br />may be the most successful ever. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Bassed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at <br /> <br />a regular meeting thereof held on the20tbday of June, 1949, by the <br /> <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing <br /> <br />resolution: Councilmen: Bri ts chgi, Granger, Holmquis t, swift <br />and Werder. <br />NOm, Councilman: None. <br /> <br />AmENT, Councilmen: <br /> <br />Morgan and SPl11ers~ <br /> <br />7Lt17??
