REV: 12-16-21 RL <br />AGREEMENT FOR SERVICE BETWEEN THE REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />(Redwood City Community Schools) <br />This agreement is made as of ____________, 2021 by and between the Redwood City School District <br />(“RCSD”) and the City of Redwood City (“CITY”); these entities are referred to collectively as the “PARTIES.” <br />WHEREAS, the CITY and RCSD will provide funding for the core operations of the Redwood City <br />Community Schools while RCSD will provide all services associated with this program, including staffing, <br />oversight, and operations. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. SERVICES <br />The PARTIES agree to continue to provide support to Redwood City Community Schools to provide <br />coordination and administrative support to interagency school-based family resource centers at Garfield, <br />Hoover, Kennedy, Adelante Selby, Roosevelt, McKinley Institute of Technology (MIT) and Taft schools. <br />These centers provide human services, educational support and community development activities to <br />approximately 3,777 students and their families. See Exhibit A for specific services and next steps. <br />A. Scope of Services <br />The PARTIES are entering into this agreement, in the manner provided for in Section 11 Compensation <br />and Funding, for the sole purpose of providing assistance to and allowing the continuation of Redwood City <br />Community Schools, the goals of which are more fully described in Exhibit "A". <br />B. Deliverables <br />RCSD staff will manage and coordinate the community school approach (including wrap-around holistic <br />services, family engagement, extended day learning programs, and other core elements of community <br />schools) at Garfield, Hoover, Kennedy, Adelante Selby, Taft, MIT, and Roosevelt Community Schools. <br />Redwood City Community Schools exist to remove barriers to learning and engagement and focus on four <br />major purposes: <br />●Increase academic achievement and access to education opportunities for students and families. <br />●Contribute to an improved sense of security and to develop skills to assist neighborhood families and <br />their children to cope with life stressors. <br />●Improve the physical and emotional health of the communities served. <br />●Provide primary prevention and early intervention services including counseling, mentoring, basic <br />needs support and education programs, and services that promote healthy families and the <br />developmental assets of students. <br />2. REDWOOD CITY TOGETHER (Previously: RWC2020) and Redwood City Community Schools. <br />Redwood City Together, a healthy community collaborative involving Redwood City School District, the City <br />of Redwood City, and San Mateo County Human Services Agency (HSA) along with other partners, has <br />promoted and supported Redwood City Community Schools from their inception. Redwood City Community <br />Schools now operates as a program of the Redwood City School District as well as an ongoing initiative of <br />Redwood City Together. <br />a. Convene community leaders to create a plan to expand and sustain community schools. <br />b.
