<br />b r::;- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N 0.813 <br /> <br />EXPRESSING NEED FOR GRADE SEPARATION <br />STRUCTURES <br /> <br />WHEREAS the lack of grade crossing separation struotures <br /> <br /> <br />on Bayshore HighwaY, EI Camino Real and at Southern Pacific <br /> <br />Railroad crossings, on the San Francisco Peninsula, has created <br /> <br /> <br />a great traffic hazard on the streets and highways on said <br /> <br /> <br />peninsula, thereby causing a terrific yearly death and accident <br /> <br />toll; and <br />WHEREAS construction of such needed grade separation <br />facilities is impeded by a lack of specifio legislation defin- <br />ing responsibility for and allocating the expense of the con- <br /> <br />struction of such grade crossing separation facilities; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Redwood City, as follows: That the Council go on <br />record as favoring and urging that a study be made of the grade <br /> <br />crossing separation problem on the San Francisco Peninsula, <br /> <br /> <br />and that specific legislation, based on the results of such <br /> <br /> <br />study, be adopted by the Legislature of the State of California, <br /> <br /> <br />defining responsibility for and allocating the expense of con- <br /> <br /> <br />struction of needed grade crossing separation structures on <br /> <br /> <br />the San Francisco Peninsula. <br /> <br />'* <br /> <br />'* <br /> <br />* <br />
