ATTY/RESO.0043/CC RESO LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENT OF SEAPORT BOULEVARD REV: 07-03-24 MI Page 1 of 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16229 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CONTROLLER TO LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS FOR THE SEAPORT BOULEVARD LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT IN THE AMOUNT OF $212,500 AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH ASSESSMENTS FOR THE TAX ROLL YEAR 2024-2025 WHEREAS, on August 24, 2015, voters of the Seaport Boulevard Landscape Maintenance District (the “District”) approved, by a vote of 100% yes to 0% no, the levy of a special tax, as specified in the City Manager’s and City Engineer’s Reports, heretofore approved by Resolution No. 15415 adopted June 08, 2015 on each non- exempt parcel of land in the district; and WHEREAS, the maximum annual benefit assessment is $212,500; and WHEREAS, the District has the need of the services of the offices of the San Mateo County Controller and Tax Collector in levying and collecting the special tax. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: 1.The above recitals are all true and correct. 2.The amount of the assessment to be levied against the District for fiscal year 2024 - 2025 is hereby set at $212,500. 3.The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby respectfully requests and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Controller to include individual tax assessments in the County tax bills in accordance with the documents supplied by the District and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Collector to collect the taxes at the same time and in the same manner as the general County taxes are collected. 4.The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. 5.This Resolution shall be effective immediately on adoption by the City Council. * * *
