ATTY/RESO.0079/CC RESO 1200 ARGUELLO HISTORIC PRESERVATION AGREEMENT (MILLS ACT CONTRACT) <br />REV: 10-25-24 JB <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. _____ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE A HISTORIC PRESERVATION AGREEMENT (MILLS ACT <br />CONTRACT) FOR 1200 ARGUELLO STREET <br />WHEREAS, Applicant, Satya Chandrasekar (the “Property Owner”), applied for a <br />Historic Preservation Agreement (Mills Act Contract) (the “Project”) at 1200 Arguello <br />Street (the “Property”) in Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, the Property is listed on the Redwood City Historic inventory list and <br />on July 24, 2006, City Council identified the Property as a contributing property when <br />designating the Mezesville Historic District area as a historic district pursuant to the <br />Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 8, 2024, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee held <br />a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State <br />Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Municipal Code to consider the Project; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee recommended approval <br />of the 10-year schedule of improvements and recommended that a Historic Preservation <br />Agreement (Mills Act Contract) be approved for the Property by a vote of 4-0; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 15, 2024, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed <br />public hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and <br />Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider <br />the Project and voted 6-0 recommending approval of the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 11, 2024, a public hearing notice of the City Council <br />hearing was published in the San Mateo Daily Journal and sent to the Property Owner; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on November 4, 2024, the City Council held a duly noticed public <br />hearing in accordable with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning <br />Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider the <br />Project; and <br />WHEREAS, said Property and Applicant do qualify for a Historic Preservation <br />Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the residents <br />therein, that the historic preservation agreement be approved to assist in the restoration <br />and preservation of the Property. <br />16260
