HSFA FUNDING AGREEMENT TEMPLATE <br />CITY ATTORNEY APPROVED VERSION 08-17-23 SK <br />Page 1 of 10 <br />FUNDING AGREEMENT <br />FOR HUMAN SERVICES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br />THE LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT for Human Services Financial Assistance Program (“Agreement”), made <br />and entered into this ___ day of _____, 2025, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the State of California (“City”), and The Legal <br />Aid Society of San Mateo County, a California nonprofit corporation (“Contractor”). <br />Collectively, the City and Contractor will be referred <br />to as the “Parties”. <br /> <br /> RECITALS <br /> <br />A. WHEREAS, Contractor provides HomeSavers Program that provides legal <br />counseling, advice and legal representation to low-income tenants (“Program”); and <br /> <br />B. WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to <br />conduct the Program for residents of Redwood City during the fiscal year commencing <br />July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025; and <br /> <br />C. WHEREAS, City has reviewed the request and desires to allocate to <br />Contractor the sum Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. City shall allocate to Contractor the sum of Ten <br />Thousand Dollars ($10,000) for exclusive use by Contractor during the fiscal year <br />commencing July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025, to be used by Contractor solely for <br />the purposes described in Section 2. <br /> <br />2. USE OF FUNDS. Contractor shall use the funds provided pursuant to <br />Section 1 solely for the Program purposes described in Exhibit “A” (Program Objectives) <br />attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein. <br /> <br />3. CHANGES TO PROGRAM. No changes in the Program as described in <br />Exhibit “A” to this Agreement shall be made without the prior written consent of City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />4. PAYMENTS. Contractor will keep detailed and accurate records of all <br />expenditures made and expenses incurred which are funded under this Agreement. <br />Payments of funds allocated pursuant to Section 1 shall be made to Contractor within 30 <br />calendar days after this Agreement is fully signed and executed. <br /> <br />5. STANDARD OF SERVICE. Contractor warrants to the City that the Program <br />will be performed to the highest standards provided for programs of a similar or like nature <br />in the San Francisco Bay Area, as determined by City’s Human Services Manager. <br />28th February
