ATTY/RESO.0093/CC RESO ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL SUB-COMMITTEE ON HOMELESSNESS <br />REV: 08-20-25 MI <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16351 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL SUB-COMMITTEE ON <br />HOMELESSNESS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council affirms its commitment to addressing the challenges <br />of homelessness through compassionate and effective policies; and <br />WHEREAS, the City strives to reduce homelessness and community impacts <br />associated with homelessness through partnering with the County of San Mateo, other <br />agencies and community organizations; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of reviewing the City’s <br />efforts to address homelessness in order to better serve individuals experiencing <br />homelessness and to limit impacts on the community as a whole; and <br />WHEREAS, the establishment of a City Council Sub-Committee on <br />Homelessness will help the City Council advance these values and commitments. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.City Council Sub-Committee on Homelessness. The City Council Sub- <br />Committee on Homelessness (hereinafter the “Sub-Committee”), consisting of three (3) <br />members of the City Council, is hereby established. Said member(s) shall be appointed <br />by and at the discretion of the Mayor. <br />2.Meetings. The Sub-Committee shall meet three to four times per year . All <br />meetings shall be open to the public and governed by the provisions of the Ralph M. <br />Brown Act, Government Code Section 54950, et seq. <br />3.Staff Support. The City’s City Manager or designee shall serve as staff <br />advisor to the Sub-Committee, and shall provide such staff support and assistance as is <br />necessary or appropriate for the Sub-Committee to carry out its duties. <br />4.Duties. The Sub-Committee shall be a recommending body to the City <br />Council. The Sub-Committee shall: <br />a.Review City policies on homelessness; <br />b.Receive progress reports on the City’s efforts related to homelessness; <br />and <br />c.Submit policy recommendations to the City Council as may be <br />appropriate. <br />* * *
