ATTY/RESO.0094/CC RESO APPROVING REPEAL ON TI GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS <br />REV: 08-25-25 MI <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16353 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING THE PAUSE OF GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE <br />DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR SUBSTANTIAL COMMERCIAL <br />REMODELS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTERS 18 AND 27A OF THE <br />CITY CODE UNTIL REQUIRED BY THE NATIONAL POLLUTANT <br />DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM MUNICIPAL REGIONAL PERMIT <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 18, of the City Code for the City of Redwood City (“City”) <br />governs the planned extension and repair of utility and street improvements upon <br />substantial commercial remodeling of existing buildings; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 27A of the City Code establishes development standards for <br />the installation of green infrastructure improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 26, 2019, the City Council established green infrastructure <br />development standards for new buildings and substantial commercial remodels through <br />Resolution No. 15796; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 23, 2024, the City Council updated the Green <br />Infrastructure Development Standards to increase the substantial commercial remodel <br />threshold from more than 10,000 square feet to 25,000 or more square feet through <br />Resolution No. 16248; and <br />WHEREAS, the City now desires to support the activation of existing commercial <br />space amid current financial market constraints and to maintain the City’s status as a <br />destination location competitive with neighboring jurisdictions; and <br />WHEREAS, the City would like to pause the Green Infrastructure Development <br />Standards for commercial remodels until it is required by the National Pollutant Discharge <br />Elimination System Municipal Regional Permit. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br />incorporated by reference <br />Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the updated Green Infrastructure <br />Development Standards for substantial commercial remodels, attached hereto as “Exhibit <br />A” and incorporated herein by reference. <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect upon its adoption. <br />* * *
