We have to be engaged and get
ourselves elected to school boards and city councils. Si se puede!" and truly we have seen this locally many times
over in the county, school boards, city councils, business community and influential activists all throughout our great
community; and
WHEREAS, people who idents as Hispanic or Latinx represent approximately 39% of Redwood City's population,
making it the second largest demographic in our community; and
WHEREAS, the day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American
countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
