proclamation <br />Recognizing San Mateo County Central Labor Council's <br />90th Anniversary <br />WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Central Labor Council (SMCCLC) was founded in 1935 and <br />has, for ninety years, served as the united voice of working people throughout San Mateo County; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the SMCCLC represents thousands of union members and their families across a <br />diverse range of industries, advocating for fair wages, safe workplaces, and dignity for all <br />workers; and <br />WHEREAS, for nine decades, the San Mateo County Central Labor Council has strengthened our <br />communities by supporting good jobs, advancing social and economic justice, and ensuring that <br />working families have access to the opportunities and protections they deserve; and <br />WHEREAS, the SMCCLC has played a vital role in building partnerships with local governments, <br />schools, and community organizations to promote equitable growth and sustain a thriving local <br />economy; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Central Labor Council's 901h Anniversary is a milestone that <br />honors generations of workers, leaders, and advocates who have contributed to the prosperity and <br />resilience of our region; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City celebrates the SMCCLC's ongoing commitment to <br />empowering working people and fostering solidarity across all communities. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT I, ELMER MARTINEZ SABALLOS, <br />MAYOR OF REDWOOD CITY, on behalf of the City Council and the people of Redwood City do <br />hereby recognize and congratulate the San Mateo County Central Labor Council on the occasion <br />Of its 901h Anniversary, and express our sincere appreciation for its decades of leadership, <br />advocacy, and service to the people of Redwood City and San Mateo County. <br />Date: November 10, 2025 <br />Elmar Martinez Saballos, Mayor <br />Kato Eakin, Vice Mayar <br />al� - . <br />Isabella Chu, Council Member <br />Je,,Q7ia", CouancilMember <br />J]rane U0UW d, Cwmcil Mrrnber <br />Matwella Padilla.
