ATTY/RESO.0032/CC RESO ESTABLISHING RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA “D” <br />REV: 06-12-26 VR <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16413 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY DESIGNATING RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA “D” FOR <br />PARTS OF CERTAIN STREETS SOUTH OF WOODSIDE ROAD <br />BETWEEN THE CALTRAIN RAILROAD TRACKS AND EL CAMINO <br />REAL IN THE REDWOOD OAKS NEIGHBORHOOD; AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF APPROPRIATE SIGNS AND THE <br />ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR SAID AREA <br />WHEREAS, The City of Redwood City in 1985 adopted the Residential Parking <br />Permit Program codified in the City’s Municipal Code in Chapter 20, Article 7, Division 11 <br />to discourage long-term parking by people who do not live in the residential neighborhood; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City received a petition requesting creation of a residential parking <br />permit area in and around Manzanita and Shasta Street; and <br />WHEREAS, the City collected parking occupancy data which demonstrated that <br />parking was being negatively impacted by the adjacent commercial areas, commute <br />parkers, and excessive non-neighborhood vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, the City surveyed residents and property owners within the area, with <br />52% responding and 85% supporting the creation of a residential parking permit area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Division 11 of Chapter 20 of the Municipal <br />Code of the City of Redwood City, the City hereby designates Residential Permit Parking <br />Area “D” for parts of certain streets in the Redwood Oaks Neighborhood as indicated in <br />Section 2 and as illustrated in Exhibit “A”. <br />Section 2. The following streets and public right-of-ways or portions thereof, and <br />the applicable time schedules (during which times it is unlawful for any person to park a <br />vehicle for more than a consecutive period of two hours without a valid residential parking <br />permit or temporary or guest permit) are hereby designated: <br />Shasta Street. West side, from Manzanita Street to Laurel Street - Mondays <br />through Fridays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., holidays excluded. <br />Manzanita Street. Both sides, from Shasta Street to End of street - Mondays <br />through Fridays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., holidays excluded.
