R E S 0 L U T I O N N 0. 1705 <br />GRANTING VARIANCE TO GLENN M. JAIN TO <br />ALLOW A PROPOSED ADDITION TO BE BUILT <br />ON RESIDENCE SO THAT DISTANCE BETWEEN <br />CORNERS OF ADDITION AND EXISTING GARAGE <br />BE REDUCED FROM lO t TO 6 1/2 t . <br />WHERE S, the Planning Commission of Redwood City has sub- <br />initted the application of Glenn M. Jain for variance with the <br />recommendation that such application be granted; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City has con- <br />sidered said application for variance in accordance with <br />Section 20 of Ordinance No. 600, said ordinance being the Zoning <br />Ordinance of the City of Redwood City; <br />NOW, T LEREFORE , THE COUNCIL OF REDIgOOD CITY HEREBY <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS <br />1. Said Council finds the following conditions exist: <br />(a) That there are exceptional or extra- <br />ordinary circumstances which apply to the land, <br />building or use referred to in the application, <br />which circumstances or conditions do not generally <br />apply to land, buildings or uses in the same <br />district. <br />(b) That the granting of the application. <br />is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment <br />of substantial property rights of the petitioner. <br />(c) That the granting of such application <br />will not materially affect adversely neighboring <br />property or the public welfare or the health or <br />safety of persons residing or working in the <br />neighborhood. <br />2. Said Council hereby grants to Glenn M. Jain a <br />variance to allow a proposed addition to be built on a residence <br />at 265 Myrtle Street, Redwood City, San Mateo County, California, <br />so that the distance between corners of the addition and an <br />existing garage be reduced from ten (10 ) feet to six and one- <br />half (6 1/2) feet, and further, upon the condition that the <br />construction of said proposed addition will be carried out in <br />-1- <br />
