R E 3 0 L U T 1 0 N N0. 1856 <br />URGING PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL 2833 <br />WHEREAS,, there is pending before the Legislature of the <br />State of California, Assembly Bill 2833 which proposes to make <br />certain changes with respect to levying of Sales Taxes by local <br />governments; and <br />WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2833 represents the view of the <br />League of California Municipalities and the City of Redwood City <br />regarding Sales Tax levies by local bodies; <br />NOW., THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY HEREBY <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Council hereby urges the adoption of Assembly <br />Bill 2833 into law in the form in which it was introduced in the <br />Legislature in that it will be in the best interests of the City <br />of Redwood City and other municipalities similarly situated to <br />have such bill made into law. <br />2. The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby <br />directed to forward copies of this resolution to Assemblyman <br />Dolwig and Senator Parkman urging that they use their best efforts <br />to obtain the passage of Assembly Bill 2833 in the form in which <br />it was introduced in the State Legislature. <br />
