6/25/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO.L42,5R <br />RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION AND REQUESTING BOARD <br />OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, TO <br />CONSOLIDATE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 2001 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the <br />City of Redwood City and Ordinance No. 2078, adopted April 11, 1994, General <br />Municipal Elections of the City of Redwood City shall be held in said City on the <br />same day as School District Elections, to wit: the first Tuesday after the first <br />Monday in November of each odd - numbered year, commencing with said <br />election in November 1995; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Elections Code Section 10400, <br />elections called to be held on the same day and wholly or partly within the same <br />territory, may be consolidated upon the order of the governing body or bodies <br />calling the elections; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to consolidate the aforesaid General <br />Municipal Election with the School District Election to be held on the same date <br />by the Redwood City Elementary School District; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 10402 and 10403 of the <br />Elections Code, the governing body of the jurisdiction that receives a request for <br />consolidation may order said consolidation and, therefore, this Council desires <br />Reso -1180 1 <br />DES:djk <br />Shared/Redwood/Council <br />06/19/01 <br />
