MacDonald, having well and ably served the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City for over 25 years as a member of the Police <br /> <br />Department, will retire on September 1, 1980; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pete began his career with Redwood City on February 16, <br /> <br />1955, as a policeman and was thereafter assigned to increasing areas <br /> <br />of responsibility culminating in his selection as the police liaison <br /> <br />officer with the Municipal Court, Southern Division, of San Mateo <br /> <br />County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during his years of service, Pete has been recognized <br /> <br />for his thoroughness, his knowledge of criminal law and procedure, <br /> <br />for his evaluation of cases presented by the Police Department to <br /> <br />the District Attorneys Office for prosecution, and for his capacity <br /> <br />to work with all branches of law enforcement agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that it will be difficult to <br /> <br />replace a man of Pete's ability and experience and desires to <br /> <br />recognize his years of devoted service and to commend and congratulate <br /> <br />Pete on the occasion of his retirement; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby commend Peter C. MacDonald for his <br /> <br />years of service to the Redwood city Police Department, does hereby <br /> <br />congratulate him on the occasion of his retirement, and does extend <br /> <br />to him its very best wishes for many happy rewarding years following <br /> <br />his retirement. <br />
