<br />.. <br />.; '... <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />NIl 17 1G <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. ~.3~p <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING ACTION OF THE COUNCIL OF <br />MAYORS OF SAN MATEO COUNTY OPPOSING THE BAY <br />FRONT FREEWAY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of Mayors of San Mateo County has <br /> <br /> <br />adopted a resolution urging that the Bay Front Freeway as <br /> <br />shown upon the San Mateo County Master Plan be removed there- <br /> <br />from; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, prior to approval of the concept of a Bay Front <br /> <br /> <br />Freeway full consideration should be given to alternative modes <br /> <br />of transportation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the relative merits of such alternative modes of <br /> <br /> <br />transportation should be fully assessed with regard to economic, <br /> <br />planning, and ecological concerns of the communities affected; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That this Council hereby endorses the resolution adopted <br /> <br /> <br />May 22, 1970, by the Council of Mayors of San Mateo County urging <br /> <br />the County of San Mateo to remove the Bay Front Freeway from the <br /> <br />County Master Plan. <br /> <br />2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed <br /> <br /> <br />to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of <br /> <br />Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, and copies hereof to <br /> <br />the Council of Mayors of San Mateo County, Environmental Quality <br /> <br />Committee, San Mateo County Greater Transportation Committe~, .San <br /> <br />Mateo County Regional Planning Committee, Association of Bay Area <br /> <br />Governments, San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Com- <br /> <br />mission, and to each of the cities within the County of San Mateo. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
