WERDER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the members of this Council were saddened by <br /> <br />the death of Berthold L. Werder, and wish to acknowledge upon <br /> <br />the records of this city the loss that his passing has caused: <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the life of Mr. Werder was one of dedicated <br /> <br />public service, and he leaves as a fitting memorial a record <br /> <br />of many achievements, high-lighted by the founding of the San <br /> <br />Mateo County Forest Service, the dedication of Huddart Park, the <br /> <br />beginning of the Boy Scout movement in San Mateo County and the <br /> <br />establishment of sui table camping facili ties for youth ,activi ties, <br /> <br />as well as the contribution of his skills as an engineer in the <br /> <br />service of Redwood city, and as a tireless worker for the good <br /> <br />of the community as an active participating member of numerous <br /> <br />civic and church organizations: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, his personal contributions to the growth and <br /> <br />welfare of this community will be remembered and cherished by <br /> <br />all: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That this meeting of the Council of the city of Redwood <br /> <br />city be'adjourned in memory of Berthold L. Werder, and that <br /> <br />this Council does hereby express its sincere regrets on his <br /> <br />passing: and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> <br />That the members of this Council do hereby extend their <br /> <br />condolences to the family of Berthold L.
