FAULSTICH WHEREAS, the members of this Council were saddened by the untimely ~eath of former Redwood City Police !Chief William L. Faulstich and wish to acknowledge upon the records of this City the loss that his passing has caused; and WHEREAS, the life of William L. Faulstich was one of dedicated public service, his energies being directed toward serving his community in many capacities as a public official, as an active member of civic organizations a~d service clubs, and as a private citizen; all directed towards the development. and growth of our City, fostering a community spirit and pride essential to the well being of our community; and WHEREAS, he directly served the City of Redwood City as a police officer from January, 1943, and served as Police Chief from November, 1955, until his retirement in January, 1969; and WHEREAS, Chief Faulstich's dedication to the profession of law enforcement is evidenced .by the record of his. participation therein: As a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Academy, as past president of the California Chapter of the Academy; as a representative to the National Academy Associates; as a member of the California State Disaster Council; the California Youth Authority Advisory Board; the Committee on Uniform Crime Reporting, International Association of Police Chiefs; as past member of the San Mateo .County Parole Board and the San Mateo County Probation Committee (Juvenile Justice Commission); and as Executive Secretary of the California Peace Officers Association, which office he held at the time of his death; and .., ;r.
