FAULSTICH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the members of this Council were saddened by the <br /> <br />untimely ~eath of former Redwood City Police !Chief William L. <br /> <br />Faulstich and wish to acknowledge upon the records of this City <br /> <br />the loss that his passing has caused; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the life of William L. Faulstich was one of <br /> <br />dedicated public service, his energies being directed toward <br /> <br />serving his community in many capacities as a public official, <br /> <br />as an active member of civic organizations a~d service clubs, <br /> <br />and as a private citizen; all directed towards the development. <br /> <br />and growth of our City, fostering a community spirit and pride <br /> <br />essential to the well being of our community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, he directly served the City of Redwood City as a <br /> <br />police officer from January, 1943, and served as Police Chief <br /> <br />from November, 1955, until his retirement in January, 1969; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chief Faulstich's dedication to the profession of <br /> <br />law enforcement is evidenced .by the record of his. participation <br /> <br />therein: As a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, <br /> <br />National Academy, as past president of the California Chapter <br /> <br />of the Academy; as a representative to the National Academy <br /> <br />Associates; as a member of the California State Disaster Council; <br /> <br />the California Youth Authority Advisory Board; the Committee on <br /> <br />Uniform Crime Reporting, International Association of Police <br /> <br />Chiefs; as past member of the San Mateo .County Parole Board and <br /> <br />the San Mateo County Probation Committee (Juvenile Justice <br /> <br />Commission); and as Executive Secretary of the California Peace <br /> <br />Officers Association, which office he held at the time of his <br /> <br />death; and <br /> <br />.., ;r. <br />
