<br />RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR FURNISHING OF MATERIALS
<br />FOR ASPfu\LTIC EMULSIONS, CRUSHER-RUN ROCK, ROCK 'SCREENINGS,
<br />FINE AGGREGATES AND ASPHALT CONCRETE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
<br />FISCAL YEAR 1970-71; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED:
<br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS FOR FURNISHING OF SAID
<br />r.lA'I'ERIALS :--I~ND, DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 6291, adopted May 11,
<br />
<br />1970, the City Clerk called for bids for the furnishing of
<br />
<br />asphaltic emulsions, crusher-run rock, rock screenings, fine
<br />
<br />aggregates, asphalt concrete, and Portland cement concrete: and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said catl, bids were received for the
<br />
<br />furnishing of said materials as specified under Bid Items 1
<br />
<br />through 11, and filed with the City Clerk: and
<br />
<br />h~EREAS, GRANITE ROCK COMPANY, Redwood City, california, is
<br />
<br />the lowest responsible bidder for Items 1 and 2, EDGEWOOD MATERIALS,
<br />
<br />INC., Redw'ood city, california, is the lowest responsible bidder
<br />
<br />for Bid Items 3 and 6, PENINSULA BUILDING MATERIALS COo, Menlo
<br />
<br />Park, California, is the lowest responsible bidder for Bid Items
<br />
<br />, .
<br />
<br />4 and 5, and HILLSDALE ROCK,CO., INC., San Jose, california, is
<br />
<br />the lowest responsible bidder for Bid Items 7, 8, 9 and 10,
<br />
<br />and it is the intention and desire of this council to award
<br />
<br />s-aid bids for said bid :i terns to said lO\'lest respons ible bidders i
<br />
<br />NOW, 'THEREFORE;
<br />
<br />BE IT, RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY,
<br />
<br />AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br />1. The bid of GRANITE ROCK COMPANY, in the total amount of
<br />
<br />Nine Thousand T\~o Hundred Thirty-five and 80/100 Dollars ($9,235.80),
<br />
<br />more or less, computed in accordance with bidder1s proposal dated.
<br />
<br />May 25, 1970, for Bid Items land 2 for the furnishing of asphaltic
<br />
<br />emulsions in accordance with the specifications therefor, is
<br />
<br />hereby accepted and said bidder is hereby found and declared to
<br />
<br />be the lowest responsible bidder for said bid items for the
<br />
<br />furnishing of sa~d materials.
