L' <br />)h~~'bir'V1 , <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />---------- <br /> <br />N O. 6~~' <br /> <br />RESOLUTION URGING EARLY CONSTRUCTION <br />OF STATE COLLEGE IN REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of california has acquired a college <br /> <br />site located within the City of Redwood City for construction <br /> <br />and development of a State College offering full four year <br /> <br />undergraduate programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such college facilities are urgently required to <br /> <br />serve the educational needs of the State and the local area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State College Board of Trustees has requested <br /> <br />permission of the Coordinating Council for Higher Education to <br /> <br />proceed with the construction of the State College in Redwood City; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to urge support <br /> <br />of the aforesaid request of the State College Board of Trustees, <br /> <br />and to urge construction of permanent facilities at the Redwood <br /> <br />City campus at the earliest practicable time; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That this Council hereby commends the State College <br /> <br />Board of Trustees for its position urging construction of the <br /> <br />State College in the City of Redwood city at the earliest practi- <br /> <br />cable time, and hereby urges and requests support of such early <br /> <br />construction of permanent facilities at the Redwood City campus, <br /> <br />and further urges and requests adoption of such budgetary measures <br /> <br />and/or appropriations as are necessary to facilitate the early <br /> <br />construction of said facilities at the earliest practicable time. <br /> <br />2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed <br /> <br />to send copies of this resolution to the Coordinating Council <br />
