<br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DES:yc:ll/26/69 <br /> <br />.....-:~""'...'.... ~ ~.11', <br />f' ..J' ..... <br />~ <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />---------- <br /> <br />N O. {;,17D <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC <br />INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE <br />OF PUBLIC MONEY FOR REPAIR OF WATER FACILITIES IN THE <br />VICINITY OF BELMONT CHANNEL FOR GENERAL IMPROVEMENT <br />DISTRICT NO. 1-64 WITHOUT PUBLIC BID THEREFOR <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That it is her.eby determined, and this Council hereby <br /> <br />declares, pursuant to the provisions of Section 68 of the Charter <br /> <br />of the City of Redwood City, and based on facts and recommendations <br /> <br />presented to this Council, that the public interest and necessity <br /> <br />demand. the immediate expenditure of public money to safeguard <br /> <br />the life, health and property of the public in connection with <br /> <br />the failure of certain water transmission facilities located in <br /> <br />the vicinity of Belmont Channel and O'Niel Avenue, said facilities <br /> <br />being for the purpose of furnishing fresh water to Redwood City <br /> <br />General Improvement District No. 1-64 and the residents therein. <br /> <br />2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to expend <br /> <br />funds required by the aforesaid emergency, not to exceed Four <br /> <br />Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) to cause the repair, installation, <br /> <br />or replacement, as appropriate, of that portion or portions of <br /> <br />the aforesaid water transmission facilities found to be defective <br /> <br />or otherwise requiring such repair, installation, or replacement <br /> <br />without complying with the public bid requirements of Section 67 <br /> <br />of the Charter of the City of Redwood city and applicable <br /> <br />provisions of Article 7 of Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood city. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
