S-~ ~S- RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT - CITY OF BELMONT, CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND CITY OF SAN CARLOS WHEREAS, the cities of Belmont, Redwood City and San Carlos have power to acquire, con~truct, complete and operate sewage collection, interceptor and outfall lines and plants and facilities for the treatment and disposal of sewage; and WHEREAS, the above mentioned cities propose to enter into an agreement to exercise said power jointly for the purpose of providing for the more efficient disposal of the sewage produced in each city, all to the economic and financial advantage of each of the said cities and otherwise for the benefit of each of the said cities; and WHEREAS, the above mentioned cities arewilling~to plan for future joint sewage treatment and disposal facilities which will protect each of said cities; and WHEREAS, the joint exercise of powers provided for in the above mentioned agreement will inure to the benefit of the entire southeaster portion of the county and will aid in its growth; and WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of the Council of the City of Redwood City to approve and authorize the execution of the above mentioned agreement by and between the aforesaid cities; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: That certain agreement on file with the Clerk of the City of Redwood City, entitled "Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement - City of Belmont, City of Redwood City and City of San Carlos, II is hereby approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. * * *
