<br />,. <br /> <br />':""" <br /> <br />. / <br />-..I <br /> <br />-';" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DES:vc:9/19/68 <br /> <br />" . <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />m 7 -. <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />----------- <br /> <br />NO.-$"r <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY REh~TING TO MODIFICA- <br />TIONS TO PROPOSED SEWAGE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL PLANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood ~ity, in conjunction with the <br /> <br />cities of San Carlos and Belmont, has applied as the "central <br /> <br />agencyll for a federal grant under Public Law 84-660 .(the Federal <br /> <br />Water Pollution Control Act) as amended, for the construction of <br /> <br />an intercepting sewer system and a joint outfall line to the <br /> <br />deep water channel of San Francisco Bay; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal Water Pollution Control Administration <br /> <br />policy as set forth in Guideline 8 C'Guidelines for Establishing <br /> <br />Water Quality Standards for Interstate Waters~ May, 1966) requires <br /> <br />that sanitary sewage discharged to the waters of the San Franci.sco <br /> <br />Bay receive the best practicable treatment or control unless it <br /> <br />can be demonstrated that a lesser degree of treatment or control <br /> <br />will provide water quality enhancement commensurate with proposed <br /> <br />present and future water uses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the project for which applications have been sub- <br /> <br />mitted will provide sewerage facilities vlhich will enable compliance <br /> <br />with the waste discharge requirements now prescribed by the San <br /> <br />Francisco Bay Regional vlater Quality Control Board although the <br /> <br />sewage treatment is less than full secondary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the current San Francisco Bay-Delta Water Quality <br /> <br />Control Program should result in a regional .plan t}l.at may require <br /> <br />modification of local wa~te treatment and disposal facilities; <br /> <br />NO~'l, 'rHEREF ORE i <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OE' REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />p.~s FOLLOHS: <br /> <br />That it is the policy and intention of' the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City to make necessary and proper modifications to the above <br />
