<br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />as:lm:7/11/68 <br /> <br />--,' <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />---------- <br /> <br />N o. $7# <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF <br />SECTION 23 OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING ACT OF 1937 <br />AS AMENDED, TO CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 23 of the United <br /> <br />States Housing Act of 1937 as amended, the Public Housing <br /> <br />Administration is authorized to provide financial assistance <br /> <br />to local public housing agencies in providing rental payment <br /> <br />to eligible applicants by paying a portion of their rent as <br /> <br />long as they remain eligible for such assistance and while <br /> <br />residing in premises which provide decent, safe, and sanitary <br /> <br />facilities, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Section 23 provides that the provisions <br /> <br />thereof shall not apply to any locality unless the governing <br /> <br />body of the locality has by resolution approved the application <br /> <br />of such provisions to such locality_ <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That the application of the provisions of Section 23 of <br /> <br />the United States Housing Act of 1937 as amended, is hereby <br /> <br />approved for said City of Redwood City provided that in con- <br /> <br />sidering application of such rental payment assistance distinct <br /> <br />preference will be given to applicants who have resided in <br /> <br />said City for three years prior to applying for such assistance. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
